Godartiste is a reggae singer in the Jamaican gospel music scene.
Born on the 26th day of April 1991 in the cool hills of Mavis Bank, St. Andrew Jamaica, Godartiste is one who has been hand-picked by God for ministry. He has had a passion for music from a tender age, hence he was always associated in one way or another with the Art. His first major exposure came in 2008 when he played a major role in his alma mater, Mona High School’s 3rd place finish in the 2008 edition of TVJ’s All Together Sing high school choir competition in Jamaica, West Indies.
Growing as a youth in church, he struggled to walk on the straight and narrow as he had other influences around him. However, he never doubted the fact that each person has a specific purpose in this life and so, he sought God for his. Godartiste wanted to become a Journalist as he also loves writing so when God said Music Ministry, he was not prepared to listen. He did everything else and failed miserably so he went back to God, asking this time for his calling to be revealed to other persons. God began to show up everywhere he went and spoke in no uncertain terms. He reluctantly began his music ministry but there was no success as he was not fully immersed and was living a double life. In 2015 while he was at church, God showed up and spoke directly to him through Rev Glendon McNish telling him to launch out into the deep and from that day his life has never been the same.
Godartiste serves in the African Methodist Episcopal Church as the Conference Music Director and at his local church, Gaines Memorial Chapel A.M.E. Church (2017-2019). He is very visible in his local church and was recently awarded for being the most outstanding youth (2016-2017). In 2015-2016 he also served on the Youth Executive of the same church.
He began his musical journey professionally after launching an EP on October 2nd, 2015 which is now ministering to souls across Jamaica and the world. Since then, he has been nominated in the GXMMA Awards in the UK, International male artiste of the year 2016 alongside gospel icons like Donnie McClurkin, Travis Greene, Jermaine Edwards, and others.
