'The Hand of God'

Most of us might have heard about Diego Maradona’s infamous “Hand of God” goal against England in the 1986 FIFA World Cup which Argentina went on to win. This goal is one that has been talked about for decades and many have weighed in on the subject from many tribes and ethnic backgrounds but is this the hand of God that we are talking about today? I think not.

Many centuries ago, after God called everything else into existence; he came down to do one final project. This time he was about to do something he had not done since the creation episode began. He was about to use his hands to create a very special work of art. Whenever the hand of God begins to work on your life, you can never be the same. God took clay in his hand and created a being in his image, after his own likeness according to the book of Genesis. And that image that God made was given dominion over all the earth (Genesis 1:26).

In the Book of John, Chapter 6, verses 1-14, the bible records the story of Jesus feeding the multitude. Jesus had crossed the Sea of Galilee and many people followed him because they had heard of the miracles he had performed in Jerusalem and its surroundings.  When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. The disciples were concerned because the crowd was mighty, but Jesus was about to use this as another platform to show us the power and potency of the hand of God. A little boy was located who had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish and was willing to share. Jesus took it, asked the people to be seated, prayed over it and used it to feed in excess of 5000 people and even when they were all filled, he had more that could feed another multitude.

After saying all this, what is the conclusion? Whatever mountain you are facing right now, it is temporary. We serve a mighty God who is willing and able to leave his throne room and administer to your needs specifically. He is not slack concerning his promises and when his hands begin to work in your situations, it will never be the same again.
