'The Lord will make a Way'
Our devotional series this week takes us to the book Exodus, Chapter 14. After being released from the land of Egypt, the Children of Israel were travelling through the wilderness, heading to the land God had promised them. It was a journey that showed them evidence of the power of God, but their faith had not grown much, even though they experienced God directly.
As they journeyed, they came to a place where on every side they had an obstacle. There were mountains on both sides, Pharaoh and his army were chasing them with the intention to take them back into captivity and ahead, there was the Red Sea. The people started to complain to Moses and forgot all the miracles that God had done before.
Sometimes as followers of Christ, we are easily swayed by the things that happen around us. We tend to forget all the things God had done for us in times past whenever we are faced with new challenges. But this Today, let me encourage you, the same God who parted the Red Sea so the Israelites could cross over, is the same God that will conquer the trails that you are facing. In his words he promised that he’ll never leave us nor forsake us, and we know also that he is not slack concerning his promises. Be confident in Christ, He will make a way.
Almighty God, we are humbled that you are our God. We are grateful that even when we doubt you and our faith crumbles under the weight of our circumstances you are still in the business of delivering your people. We ask you today that you will cause our faith to grow and that we’ll always be cognisant of the fact that we are the apple of your eyes and you will never leave us in times of trouble. We ask you God for an outpouring of your Holy Ghost. Create in us clean hearts in the name of Jesus. Forgive us for the many times we’ve doubted you God and continue to bless us and make us a blessing to others. We thank you for hearing this humble prayer.
